The best dual SIM smartphones. ZOOM Version

Let's start with the most technically advanced devices in which manufacturers have made a hybrid slot. Either a nano-SIM or a MicroSD memory card is inserted into it. This saves space in the case, which is worth its weight in gold in thin modern smartphones. Well, the user has to choose whether to use the second SIM card, or listen to the music that is stored on the memory card. But in fairness, we note that with a drive volume of 64 GB or more, it is not a fact that MicroSD will be needed at all.

In addition to attractive design, the device is distinguished by a dual sensor of the main camera - one of the modules is widescreen. The case is protected from impacts according to the MIL-STD-810G standard and water penetration according to IP68.

LG G6 also works with two SIM-cards, the second slot is hybrid. In principle, this can be experienced with a 64 GB drive. Although the possible volume of MicroSD is not limited to the standard 256 GB, it is possible to expand the memory with cards up to 2 TB.

HTC U 11

HTC finally managed to “shoot” with a new smartphone: it looks interesting, has top-end hardware, a high-end camera, decent autonomy and high-quality sound. Moreover, the smartphone was equipped with the Edge Sense function - the edges of the case shrink a little, reacting to the strength and duration of touches. Edge Sense can be used with gloves and some cases. The reaction of the system to "handshakes" is configured by the user himself, which is very nice. By default, a short press launches the camera or allows you to take a picture, a long press launches Google Assistant.

The HTC U11 is a pure flagship: a fresh Snapdragon 835 chip, 4 or 6 GB of RAM, a screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, a 12-megapixel camera with an optical stabilizer and f / 1.7 aperture, support for LTE CAT 16 networks. The optional storage capacity is 64 or 128 GB: even in the first case, not to mention the second, the user may not be confused by the hybrid microSD slot.

Smartphones with a separate microSD slot

Fortunately for those who like to use both a second SIM card and a memory card, smartphones with separate slots for them are still being released. It is quite possible to choose a device with a modern filling, with which you will not have to compromise.

LG V20 is a device in a practical case: slots for SIM-cards and MicroSD are separate, and the battery is removable. Above the large 5.7-inch screen, which takes up almost the entire front panel, there is an additional display for displaying notifications, controls and favorite applications. Another feature of the device is the dual main camera module (16 + 8 MP), which until recently was only in premium models. One of the sensors has a viewing angle of 135°.

At the head here is a rather fast Snapdragon 820 chip with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory. Smartphone works on Android based 7.0 Nougat. Officially, the LG V20 never arrived in the Russian Federation, it would have turned out to be a little expensive - at the start of sales, it cost from $ 810 (48,000 rubles). But in small stores, the device can now be found for 26,000 rubles.

Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017)

Until recently, the J-series could only scare away buyers with its unsightly appearance and quite "sad" characteristics - only the screen was decent. Released this year, the update of the line received many of the advantages inherent in more expensive smartphones, and the design does refer to last year's flagships of the Galaxy S series. The device still has the ability to separately install two nano-SIMs and a MicroSD - no sacrifices or compromises. Moreover, a memory card does not hurt here - the storage capacity is only 16 GB.

It received a thin and first-in-a-series metal body, as well as a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED screen that is rounded and frameless at the edges. Compared to last year's version, agility has not increased much: it still has the same eight-core Exynos 7870, but with 3 GB of RAM. The battery capacity was added up to 3600 mAh. There is also full support for Samsung Pay (NFC + MST). The price at the start of sales is 20,000 rubles, but for sure it will fall in the near future.

Made in an aluminum case, supports fast charging and runs on pure Android 7.0 out of the box. Belonging to the middle class give out a solid bezel around the 5-inch screen. The heart of the smartphone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 with 2 GB of RAM, the Plus version is slightly more productive with a Snapdragon 625 chip and 3/4 GB of RAM. At the presentation, the developers said that they improved the parameters that buyers initially look at - the screen, camera and autonomy.

The resolution of the IPS-matrix of the Moto G5 is 1920 x 1080 pixels, the 5-inch display supports Always On technology, when the necessary information is displayed on the screen off. The main 13-megapixel camera received phase detection autofocus, the front module has a wide coverage angle for group selfies. The battery capacity is 2800 mAh, but the manufacturer claims that it will last all day. It is not yet possible to check this - the smartphone has not yet officially appeared on the Russian market, in Europe it costs from 200 euros (13,600 rubles), the Plus version with a 5.2 ”screen starts from 280 euros (19,000 rubles).

Slots for SIM-cards are hidden under the battery, and one of them is made in micro-SIM format, and the second - nano-SIM. A memory card up to 128 GB is inserted into a separate slot, the smartphone's own memory is 16/32 GB in the regular version and 32/64 GB in the enlarged version.

Smartphones with two radio modules

In all the devices listed above, as in the vast majority of modern smartphones, it is impossible to use two SIM cards at the same time: when a user is talking on one number, the second one will be busy if they call him. But models that work on Dual Active technology and are equipped with two radio modules allow you to receive calls at the same time. It is a pity that now there are very few such smartphones, but we have selected a couple of the most relevant of them.

Our selection includes a novelty of last year - the more recent "nine" no longer has simultaneous support for both SIM-cards. can receive calls and SMS to two numbers at once, however, the second SIM only works in 2G networks. Simply put, you won’t be able to use the Internet simultaneously on both SIM cards. But this is already not bad against the background of competitors, whose SIM cards work alternately to receive calls.

The smartphone is enclosed in a case with a metal frame and runs on an eight-core proprietary Kirin 950 chip, which accelerates to 2.3 GHz, with 4 GB of RAM. Inside - 32 or 64 GB of memory and it is possible to expand up to 256 GB (by the way, the memory card slot is hybrid).

The image quality of the camera is good thanks to the dual main module of 12 megapixels each, however, there is no stabilization when shooting video, and this is not Leica optics, . The 5.2” Full HD screen is highly praised for its color reproduction and brightness. In general, the model has no serious shortcomings; for its 22,000 rubles, this is a smartphone with good camera and a screen, decent autonomy and productive stuffing.

ASUS ZenFone 2 (ZE551ML)

Asus ZenFone 2 was released in 2015, and therefore still quite fresh. Despite the presence of two radio modules at once, it uses one SIM card for 3G and LTE networks, the second one can also receive only calls and SMS. The micro-SIM slots are located under the cover, there is also a separate microSD slot that allows you to add 64 GB to the memory.

The device is released in several modifications: with an Intel Atom z3580 processor with a frequency of up to 2.3 GHz and with 2 or 4 GB of RAM. The 5.5-inch IPS screen has a good pixel density (403 PPI) and Full resolution HD. The smartphone has a decent set of wireless interfaces, including NFC. The battery capacity is 3000 mAh, but we must be aware of the increased power consumption due to two SIM cards. Cameras of 13 and 5 MP have “average for a hospital” characteristics, but this is not the flagship of the line, so it would be foolish to make claims against the device.

In 2016, you will not surprise anyone with a smartphone with two SIM cards. If earlier such functionality was considered the lot of budget Chinese handsets, now the world giants (like Samsung or Sony) do not neglect installing the second slot in their flagships. Only Apple stands on the sidelines, it seems, not going to be led by the market.

At first glance, all smartphones with two SIM cards are no different in terms of networking. But in fact, they can be divided into 2 groups: Dual Standby and Dual Active. The main differences between them are that in Dual Standby technology, SIM cards work alternately, and in Dual Active in parallel, without depending on each other.

The first technology is easier to implement and therefore occurs most often. In this technology, the phone does not exchange data with communication towers simultaneously with two SIM cards, but does it alternately, then one, then the second. This is enough for the towers located in the access zone to confirm the activity of the subscriber.

The disadvantage of Dual Standby technology is that the device is unable to send a request from two SIM cards at the same time. As a result, when a conversation is conducted on one SIM card, the second one is not available. Sometimes it will not be possible to get through if one of the cards maintains an Internet connection, exchanging packet data with the database. And if both numbers belonging to the same operator are assigned identical IMEIs, then at such moments the activity of one SIM card can completely “knock out” the other from the network.

For smartphones with two radio modules (Dual Active technology), these problems are not relevant. Each SIM card has its own active transceiver, with the help of which it keeps in touch with the base. Accordingly, if you are talking on one number, you will be able to hear and receive a call to the second number at the same time. The only pity is that in 2016 there are few such tubes left.

Two active modules increase the cost of production, require fine optimization of power consumption, and therefore are not popular among manufacturers. Those few smartphones that are equipped with two radio modules, and which are still relevant in 2016, are devoted to our material.

Asus ZenFone 2 ZE551ML is a relatively fresh and therefore up-to-date smartphone with two radio modules. It was released in March 2015, and now the device can be bought at a price of 180 (2 GB RAM / 16 GB ROM) to 350 (4 GB RAM / 64 GB ROM) dollars. In addition to the amount of memory, the versions differ in processors. The 2 GB model uses the Intel Atom z3560 (4 x86 cores, up to 1.8 GHz), the 4 GB model uses the z3580 (4 x86 cores, up to 2.3 GHz).

The Asus ZenFone 2 screen is 5.5-inch FullHD, with an IPS matrix and 3rd generation Gorilla protective glass. Camera - 13 MP, with dual flash, aperture f / 2.0 and autofocus (not laser, normal). The operating system is Android 5, an upgrade to the "six" is planned.

The 3000 mAh battery is typical for a phablet, but considering that 2 modules means increased battery consumption, the battery life can be called average. Asus ZenFone 2 will last two days only if it is not particularly loaded. In general, the device is balanced, and thanks to the hardware from Intel, it is also fast enough.

The second smartphone with two simultaneously working radio modules is Huawei Honor 7. It was released in July 2015, and now you can buy it for $350. The smartphone is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 935 chip with eight cores (frequency up to 2.2 GHz). Random access memory 3 GB, built-in storage - 16 or 64 GB. There is a slot for a memory card, it is combined with a second SIM card slot.

The display of Huawei Honor 7 is built on an IPS matrix with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, and a diagonal of 5.2". .

The battery is non-removable, with a capacity of 3100 mAh. It will last for 13 hours of reading, 10 hours of video, 4 hours of gaming or 2 days of standby time. Huawei Honor 7 is a really good, once flagship gadget from a Chinese manufacturer, and one of the few “clean” dual SIM cards in this category.

Huawei has other products that support Dual Active SIM (virtually every model over $250 comes with this modification). But everything is very complicated there with versions: for different regions of the world, radio modules are installed, tailored to the frequencies of a particular market. Among the "Europeans" there are no other two-term Huawei phones.

HTC Desire 700 is a real long-liver: it was introduced back in November 2013, and went on sale in early 2014. At the moment, its characteristics look relevant only in the budget category. Paying $165 for a model that is more than 2 years old is somehow a pity, but if you need a phone with two active radios, then the choice is small.

HTC Desire 700 is powered by a 1.2 MP quad-core processor. The RAM is 1 GB, about 5 GB out of a total of 8 are allocated for data. There is a MicroSD slot. The screen is a five-inch 960x540. The camera has a resolution of 8 MP, equipped with autofocus and LED flash. The OS of the device is already outdated Android 4.1.

The battery in HTC Desire 700 is removable, its capacity is 2100 mAh. Not much, but enough for a day of moderate loads. But longer - as it turns out: if both SIM cards are active, the charge is consumed quickly.

Lenovo K910SS

Lenovo Vibe Z K910SS is another not new, but still up-to-date smartphone with two radio modules. It was released in September 2013 and was probably the last Lenovo with support for the simultaneous operation of both SIM cards in transfer mode. The model with two S in the suffix is the version for China, which is not so easy to find, but still real. The asking price is about $200.

The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. This is a quad-core chip running at up to 2.2 GHz, which is the flagship of 2013. RAM in Vibe Z is 2 GB, which is normal even by the standards of 2016. About 12 GB (out of 16) are allocated for files, there is no memory card slot, but there is OTG.

The screen with a diagonal of 5.5 inches is equipped with a FullHD IPS matrix. Safety glass(Gorilla Glass 3) present. The 13 MP camera is unremarkable: there is autofocus, there is a flash, it writes video in FullHD, the overall shooting quality is average. Initially, Android 4.2 was installed on the smartphone, version 4.4 later appeared, and the craftsmen ported CyanogenMod based on Android 5.1.

The 3050 mAh battery provides autonomy, which is nothing to criticize or praise for. 4 hours of gaming, 8-10 videos, 12 readings, just over 2 days of standby time are typical for most smartphones.

Conclusion

Finding a current smartphone with two radio modules is not easy. As the review showed, all devices with support for the simultaneous activity of both SIM cards were released in 2013-2015. Plus, most of them are either made in China, or made for China, or both.

Given the trend, soon the second radio module will completely become a thing of the past. However, if you don't want to miss a call on one card while another is active, you can simply set up a cross-forward. And then the call to the unavailable number will automatically be redirected to the one from which you are currently talking.

Usually a smartphone with two SIM cards has certain limitations. When you are talking on one SIM card, the second one is busy for those who dial your number. But this can be a very important challenge that should not be missed! If you are afraid to face such a problem, then you need to choose not just a device with two SIM cards. You need to make sure that they can work in the same mode. Unfortunately, very few such devices have been created. We will talk about almost all of them in today's article.

It's important to know!

If you already have a device on hand into which a pair of sim cards is inserted, then you may want to check the supported mode of operation. To do this, just call yourself from one number to another. If the call does not go through, then the SIM-cards work in alternate mode. If it passed, then everything is in order: both SIM cards work simultaneously.

The model is no longer new, but is still sold in stores. In fact, this is the only ordinary device without protection that has two active SIM cards. If it seems old, then you will have to consider the "indestructible gadgets" listed below. There are several versions of this smartphone. The number of radio modules they have is the same, but the amount of memory is different - 32 and 64 GB are available to choose from. You should not think much before choosing, because if you wish, you can always use the card microSD memory. The device is not new, but do not be surprised by the presence of a connector here. The device also received a fingerprint sensor, which is no less important.

The support for LTE-Advanced should also please the buyer. This device is not in vain and in 2019 is sold at a high price. It has not only a pair of radio modules, but also a dual camera! Under both lenses there is a 12-megapixel matrix. If you love photography, then you should definitely choose this smartphone! It is reliable and productive - it is unlikely that you will find any problems during operation. Importantly, this is a metal smartphone with two SIM cards - plastic is involved in its production to a minimum.

  • Display: 5.99 inches, 2160 x 1080 dots
  • Battery: 4100 mAh
  • Weight: 216 g

Price: from 50 900 rubles.

AGM is a brand that assembles devices for the military. In particular, the company makes smartphones commissioned by the German armed forces. At the end of the contract, these gadgets go on sale for ordinary users without changes in the technical component, the army software is simply removed. In other words, AGM X3 is a phone with IP68 and MIL-STD-810G protection standards. It's impossible to kill him. With all this, it looks quite modern without heavy rubber protectors, bolts and other paraphernalia.

The hardware part is impressive in the new product - the most powerful Snapdragon 845 chipset, 6/8 GB and 64/128/256 GB memory. The smartphone received a high-quality dual camera at the back - 24 + 12 Mp and a front camera - 20 Mp, both manufactured by Samsung. The model has a capacious 4100 mAh battery, which is enough for 3 days of work under loads, while there is support for fast charging. A fingerprint scanner is installed to protect against unauthorized access. The sound is represented by JBL stereo speakers, the maximum volume is 98 dB. At the same time, a JBL specialist with perfect hearing was responsible for setting them up. There is full support for all wireless interfaces and of course both SIM cards work together here. Thus, AGM X3 is a top-end smartphone with a high protection class.

  • Powerful filling.
  • There are all necessary wireless interfaces.
  • Military grade protection.
  • In the presence of protection, the device has a classic appearance, as well as the weight and dimensions of a conventional smartphone.

  • Display: 5.99 inches, 2160 x 1080 dots
  • Battery: 5400 mAh
  • Weight: 216 g

Price: from 21,990 rubles.

The model is the younger brother of the device discussed above. Visually, they are very similar, have the same protection class, but the A9 is weaker in terms of filling, which eventually affected the price tag. The device received a Snapdragon 450 processor. This is a mid-range chipset that will not provide top-end performance, but overall behaves quite well. For those who are not looking for a gaming device, this device is suitable. Memory - 3/32 GB or 4/64 GB. The device received a more capacious battery, also has fast charging and a full set of wireless interfaces, including the simultaneous operation of two SIM cards (combined slot) and. There is fingerprint protection.

Both cameras are single - 12 megapixels at the back and 16 megapixels at the front. Sound - speakers from JBL, sound volume 106 dB, a kind of high-quality boombox in the hands of the user. For the money, the model is inferior to many Chinese competitors in terms of camera and performance, but only a few can offer the same sound quality and an excellent level of protection in any operating conditions. In addition, it is almost impossible to find a powerful device in the classic version with two active SIM cards on the market.

Advantages:

  • Good stock of memory.
  • Excellent autonomy.
  • Quality display.
  • Classic appearance for a protected model.
  • Safety of use in extreme conditions.

Doogee S80

  • Operating system: Android 8.1 Oreo
  • Display: 5.99 inches, 2160 x 1080 dots
  • Battery: 10000 mAh
  • Weight: 398 g

Price: from 34 990 rubles.

Another representative with two active SIM cards, like the previous options, refers to secure devices. However, unlike them, the device turned out to be very large and with a pronounced “indestructible” appearance. In addition, the smartphone is heavy, has a very capacious battery with fast charging, and can work as a VHF radio. The device received three protection classes - IP68, IP69K, MIL-STD-810G.

Despite all of the above, the device boasts good hardware - Helio P23, 6/64 GB memory. All this gives decent multitasking and productivity. The device has all the necessary modern interfaces, Type-C connector. Combined SIM card slot. Rear camera - 12 + 5 MP, front - 16 MP. The quality of the pictures is certainly not at the level of conventional phones with a similar price, but for a secure device they are quite acceptable.

For those buyers who find the device too heavy and thick, and the radio function is not needed, it makes sense to take a closer look at the S70 model. It has exactly the same filling, but without access to the radio antenna and a less capacious 5500 mAh battery, which affected the thickness and weight - 13.6 mm and 278 grams versus 21.2 mm and 398 grams for the S80. The cost of DOOGEE S70 starts from 17,800 rubles.

Advantages:

  • High class of protection.

  • There is no headphone output (but there is an adapter in the kit).

Ulefone Armor 5

  • Operating system: Android 8.1 Oreo
  • Display: 5.85 inches, 1512 x 720 dots
  • Battery: 5000 mAh
  • Weight: 228 g

Price: from 13,900 rubles.

The Armor 5 from Ulefone is another rugged phone and a very interesting one to buy. In 2019, it is quite difficult to surprise the buyer with the fact that a gadget with a military-grade protection looks like a classic smartphone, but the Chinese company decided to go further and offered a copy of the iPhone with protection, good parameters, and more than an affordable price. An interesting point - to promote the product, Ulefone installed a 2-year factory warranty on the new product.

The model has a display with a notch, the body is made of glass (is it really a protected gadget?), And the frame of their surgical steel (as Apple does) was changed to rubber, which dampens all impacts when dropped. The device looks very stylish and looks like apple devices, although this is of course not a complete copy. The device was not limited to stylish design and protection. It has a good dual camera 13 + 8 megapixels and a nice front camera - 13 megapixels. The smartphone received two active SIM cards (you have to sacrifice a memory card), as well as NFC, a fingerprint scanner, Type-C. Unlike the "colleagues", they did not remove the headphone jack here. This is a very positive moment. Chipset - Helio P23. Given the cost of the model, this is a worthy choice. Memory - 4/64 GB, there is nothing to complain about either. The 5000mAh battery supports fast charging.

Taking into account all of the above, the company was able to make an excellent balance device with an affordable price and good looks. It is quite possible to consider it for everyday use, and not only when you need an indestructible device.

Advantages:

  • Decent iron.
  • Beautiful appearance.
  • High level of protection.
  • The presence of NFC.
  • Two active SIM cards.
  • Good cameras.
  • Excellent autonomy and fast charging.
  • Two year manufacturer's warranty.

Disadvantages:

  • None.

ASUS ZenFone 2 ZE551ML

  • Operating system: Android 5.0
  • Display: 5.5 inches, IPS, 1080 x 1920 pixels
  • Battery: 3000 mAh
  • Weight: 170 g

Price: from 9 990 rubles.

The production of a device with two radio modules is a rather complicated and expensive task. As a result, there are very few companies involved in this business. Most often, their products are very expensive. Fortunately, there are exceptions to the rule, as evidenced by the ASUS ZenFone 2 ZE551ML. Despite the presence of as much as 4 GB of RAM, the device is quite inexpensive. The exact cost will depend on how much internal storage you need.

We recommend opting for the 16GB version, as you can always use a microSD card if needed. The device is capable of transmitting data via LTE networks. It also has Bluetooth 4.0 wireless modules and, more importantly, Wi-Fi 802.11ac.

An interesting feature of the smartphone is the fact that it is powered by an Intel processor. A good graphics accelerator is also here, with it the device can launch any modern games. However, sometimes the graphics settings will still be reduced. But nothing else was expected from such an inexpensive smartphone.

In general, this is a fairly powerful device with a good battery. He can upset only a large number of marriages. And we strongly do not recommend updating to the sixth version of Android, as it sins here with numerous incurable errors!

Advantages

  • Lots of RAM;
  • There are versions with different amounts of permanent memory;
  • There is a slot for a microSD card;
  • Good processor and graphics accelerator;
  • Good screen with high pixel density;

  • Operating system: Android 4.1
  • Display: 5 inches, 540 x 960 dots
  • Battery: 2100 mAh
  • Weight: 150 g

Price: from 5 500 rubles.

This smartphone is almost impossible to find in official retail. But on the other hand, it can be purchased relatively cheaply through Avito and other services with free ads. At one time, the device was a real hit. People liked the 8-megapixel camera, which produced good shots. The smartphone fascinated even more when playing music - the creators did not stint on good speakers. The lack of a 4G module was upsetting here - at the time of the announcement, it had not yet been integrated into devices of this price category.

Advantages

  • Headset connection via Bluetooth 4.0;
  • Many useful sensors are available;
  • High-quality GPS chip;
  • Relatively good main camera;
  • Stable work operating system;
  • High sound quality.

disadvantages

  • old android version;
  • Not all instances have two radios;
  • Not enough memory;

Conquest S6

  • Operating system: Android 4.4
  • Display: 5 inches, IPS, 720 x 1280 pixels
  • Battery: 4000 mAh
  • Weight: 275 g

Price: from 29,780 rubles.

A smartphone that combines a bunch of advantages and disadvantages. It has a large battery that provides long-lasting offline work. Also, the device is able to boast good protection against dust and water. But all this led to the fact that the smartphone weighs unacceptably much! Also, not everyone will like that such an expensive device has an outdated version of the operating system. However, there are more recent versions of the device equipped with Android 5.0.

Unlike many other modern smartphones, the Conquest S6 has an event indicator light. This is very convenient - you can immediately notice if you missed an incoming message or some kind of notification. Under the body of the device are hidden 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of permanent memory (but there are other configurations). At the time of the announcement, it was the gold standard. Now this may not seem enough. An interesting feature of the Conquest S6 is the presence of a loop for a carabiner or lanyard. This suggests that the purchase of a smartphone is recommended for lovers of outdoor activities.

Advantages

  • Water protection according to the IP68 standard;
  • Long battery life;
  • There is a loop for a lace or carabiner;
  • There is a gyroscope, compass and a couple of other sensors;
  • Good navigation module;
  • Capable of transmitting data over 4G networks;
  • Good screen;
  • There are no serious complaints about the main camera.

disadvantages

  • An old version of the operating system;
  • Weak processor for such a cost;
  • Not the largest amount of memory;
  • Outrageous price tag.

Torex S18

  • Operating system: Android 5.1
  • Display: 4.3 inches, IPS, 540 x 960 pixels
  • Battery: 3500 mAh
  • Weight: 249 g

Price: from 19 950 rubles.

If you need to buy a smartphone with a protected case, then it is quite possible to pay attention to Torex S18. Unlike some competitors, it does not cost astronomical money. Although no one argues with the fact that budget phones are even cheaper. This model is distinguished by its size - the device fits easily into any average pocket. On its front panel is a 4.3-inch IPS display with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. With such a diagonal, this is quite a tolerable parameter, it is quite difficult to see individual pixels to the naked eye. And the device can please with a 13-megapixel camera. Surprisingly, the creators even worked on the front camera. Its resolution of 5 megapixels, although not enough to shoot masterpieces, but this is quite enough for communication via Skype. The case of this device is protected from water, dust and impacts. But it is still impossible to call it very reliable - at least the touch keys under the display speak of this. But the productive Torex S18 can still be considered. There are 2 GB of RAM, and a quad-core MediaTek processor pulls any applications. The smartphone is not suitable only for modern games, but it is understandable. The device does not disappoint in terms of communication either - the creators have introduced an LTE module into it.

Advantages

  • Good cameras on the front and rear panels;
  • Many useful sensors are available, including a barometer and compass;
  • Data transfer via 4G networks is possible;
  • Not bad resolution for such a small display;
  • Good protection against moisture and dust;
  • Decent amount of RAM;
  • Stably functioning Android 5.1.

disadvantages

  • weighs a lot;
  • No light sensor;
  • Many will still not be able to afford it.

Two technologies for two SIM cards September 29th, 2016

Smartphones with support for two SIM-cards have spread so much over the past few years that now it is not difficult to buy such a gadget for every taste and budget, from simple dialers to flagships. But almost all of them work with SIM-cards in alternate (DSDS) mode, and you will have to try hard to find a device in which both SIM-cards would work simultaneously (DSDA).

I knew the basic principles of how smartphones work in both modes, but anyway, it turned out there are interesting points there. Look here...

DSDS or DSDA?

In the vast majority of modern communication gadgets, two SIM cards operate in DSDS (Dual SIM Dual Standby) mode, which in Russian is usually called “alternating”. The principle of operation of DSDS is to use the same radio module for both SIM cards. Smartphones with DSDS can have either one or two IMEI numbers (international mobile device connection), but the presence of the second according to the rules of the GSM Association is not required.

The ability to receive calls to any of the SIM-cards is due to the fact that in standby mode (Standby) SIM-cards can "communicate" with the network at the same time due to time multiplexing. If a call is received on one of the SIM cards, the second one simply turns off - at such a moment you can neither call it nor send a message.

Another disadvantage of DSDS is the lower communication quality compared to single SIM phones. The radio module has to constantly carry a double load and, as a rule, “communicate” with different base stations different operators. For the same reasons, things are not so smooth with mobile internet: It is almost impossible to get the maximum data transfer rate on DSDS devices.

Of course, in reality, everything is not so bad: DSDS smartphones usually cost less and last longer on a single battery charge, and modern models are quite capable of providing decent communication quality.

But if you want to get the most reliable “dual SIM” gadget, you need to look among devices that support DSDA (Dual SIM Dual Active) mode. Such smartphones are equipped with two radio modules independent of each other, each of which has its own IMEI without fail. Due to the presence of two radio modules, communication is usually more stable. Plus, they allow you to simultaneously receive calls on both SIM cards or talk on the phone and at the same time watch the necessary information on the Internet. But such gadgets consume more energy - this feature should be kept in mind. Also, the second radio module in DSDA smartphones is often limited to 2G or 3G networks, but this is done to reduce the cost of the device and increase its autonomy.

By the way, when I saw on Chinese sites almost five-sim phones.

Due to numerous requests from our regular readers (and we are sure that all our visitors are regular :)), our today's article will be devoted to smartphones with two radio modules. Smartphones with two SIM cards it is already difficult to surprise someone, almost all manufacturers have begun to produce such devices. But they have one small limitation. You will not be able to call the second phone number if you are talking on the first one. We see that people are looking for these gadgets, but it is very, very difficult to find them.

They have many undeniable advantages:

  • you are always in touch, both SIM cards are active. If you have one SIM card "home", and the second "work", you will always be found by colleagues or relatives;
  • more stable internet. When you talk on one number, the second will still receive messages on e-mail or on social networks;
  • significant savings on calls. By connecting to two different operators mobile communications, you can reduce your costs depending on the needs;
  • mobility. No need to carry two gadgets with you;

Unfortunately, such phones have one unpleasant feature - they run out quickly.

But let's talk better about pleasant things, namely, which popular smartphones with two radio modules or two active SIM cards currently available in stores. Manufacturers do not particularly please us with such versions of phones, it is really a rarity to find this smartphone, we tried to select gadgets that can still be found in stores or bought on Aliexpress.

Let's start with one of the biggest hits of 2015. The smartphone from Asus comes in three different versions, and, in our opinion, ZE551ML version is perfect. This is the epitome of simplicity and reliability. Beautiful screen 5.5 inches, Full HD IPS with Gorilla Glass 3 and oleophobic coating. Shows in the sun sufficient brightness and excellent color reproduction. The cameras are also pleased with 13 MP main and 5 MP front, it is enough for video calls and great selfies. The cameras have many settings, so you can create real works of art. The amount of RAM is as much as 4 GB, we were not able to find applications and games that would “slow down” in work. 32 GB is available for storing personal data, i.e. in addition to a smartphone with two active SIM cards, you get the perfect nimble phone with excellent performance and NFC support. The battery is a 3000 mAh lithium polymer battery with fast charging technology. In 40 minutes, the phone was charged up to 80% from scratch.

Huawei Ascend Mate7 Premium

Trademark Huawei not the first year pleases its customers with interesting new products, but the most interesting model smartphone with two radio modules, we consider Huawei Ascend Mate7 Premium. Stylish design, durable metal case, the screen frames are minimal, the screen itself is 6 inches (read also), the sound quality is amazing, in other words, the “stuffing” is state-of-the-art. Android 4.4 is installed, but the manufacturer promised to release an update to 5.0. Fingerprint sensor did not always work correctly, we are generally skeptical about such functions in the phone, but manufacturers think differently and do everything to increase the cost of the device. But for those who are afraid for their personal data and who have something to hide, this feature may come in handy.

RAM 3 GB, adding up to 4 GB would have been a rational decision, but we decided that this was enough. Support for LTE networks, excellent communication quality, GPS / GLONASS satellites catches quickly and with high accuracy. Supports memory cards up to 128 GB, but some users note installation options up to 256 GB. Built-in memory 32 GB. The battery in the smartphone is non-removable, capacity of 4100 mAh, 2 days of active load withstands calmly In addition, it is possible to recharge other devices using a special cord that comes with the kit.

The smartphone is positioned in the premium class, but it lacks something for the speed of work, there are small problems with the proprietary EMUI shell. But if that doesn't scare you, then Huawei smartphone Ascend Mate7 Premium with two active radio modules will be a real find.

The model from HTC is already a little outdated, but among what you can choose from smartphones with two active SIM cards, this phone is one of the best. So, what can HTC ONE M7 Dual offer us? There is no need to flatter yourself much about the capabilities of the device, because. there is nothing outstanding in the smartphone. Unfortunately, there is a limitation on the operation of SIM cards: if the first slot supports 2G and 3G networks, then the second one only works with second-generation networks. The smartphone is equipped with an aluminum removable back cover, which significantly makes the gadget heavier, but, at the same time, gives reliability and solidity.

When we saw that the smartphone had a battery of only 2300 mAh, we did not believe it at first and thought that we had some kind of defective version of the phone, but it turned out that this was a real battery and not a joke. The charge is sometimes difficult to keep even from morning to evening. It is necessary to reduce the activity of using smartphones to a minimum or carry PowerBank in your pocket.

The cameras in the device are installed, apparently, in order to simply say that they are. Front 2.1 MP, rear 4 MP.

In all other respects, it turned out to be an ordinary average phone for those who need a “dialer”, but with two active sims: RAM 2 GB, built-in 32 GB, proprietary interface HTC Sense UI has always been HTC's "trick". We personally didn’t have any problems in work, but some note the “eternal” problem with the microphone, so choose the device carefully and check it right in the store.

When buying a smartphone from Lenovo, make sure that the K910 model has two letters "S", they mean that we have a smartphone with two radio modules. The phone turned out to be classic in design, but, nevertheless, it calmly copes with everyday tasks. On board good processor with a frequency of 2.2 GHz and RAM 2 GB. Unfortunately, only 16 GB is available to the user for storage, so we immediately advise you to purchase an additional memory card. The screen is excellent, with excellent viewing angles, a resolution of 1080 × 1920 and a diagonal of 5.5 inches, protected by glass Gorilla Glass 3. In the hand lies comfortably, weight is only 147 grams. The microUSB port supports OTG technology.

The cameras are standard - 13 MP rear and 5 MP front. Nothing outstanding is different, but the pictures are quite decent. At work with two radio modules There were no problems, it's a bit inconvenient to choose which card to call from, but you can quickly get used to it.

Another smartphone from HTC got into our article. Users call it one of the best smartphones with simultaneous operation of two SIM cards. This is a simplified version of the company's famous flagship. The device is very stable. We did not notice any disruptions. Looks very prestigious. There are no significant advantages in it, but it has something special, an ideal combination of price and quality. The RAM is only 1 GB, and 8 GB is available to store your files, videos or photos, memory cards up to 64 GB are supported. The screen is 5 inches with a resolution of only 540 × 960, but it is made quite well and does not cause discomfort during operation.

The smartphone uses technology HTC Boomsound, it delivers superior sound quality thanks to its dual front stereo speakers.

The 8 MP rear camera showed an excellent result, even despite its modest characteristics. Video recording takes place in FullHD 1080p.

Outcome

That's probably all we wanted to tell you about smartphones with two radio modules. For yourself, you should determine whether you need such a gadget or not. Unfortunately, manufacturers believe that it is not advisable to produce such devices; in some European countries, it is even prohibited by law to use such phones. Perhaps in the future the situation will somehow change, but today the forecast is negative. Everything depends on the battery, which, as usual, remains the weak side of all phones. You can have a mega-cool device, but if its battery only lasts half a day, then it's useless. Tell us about your experience of using such gadgets, write about them in the comments, and we will definitely create a review on them in our next articles.
