A Philips phone that holds a charge well. A phone that lasts a long time charging – Highscreen Zera S Power

: Philips has established itself as a company that produces “long-lasting” phones; few brands can boast such an assortment of models that can work for a long time without recharging.

Moreover, a phone with two active SIM cards that rarely requires recharging is a real boon for those who make a lot of calls but don't like (or don't have the opportunity) to charge their communication device often.

This is exactly what the Philips Xenium X513 is like: it is a dual-SIM monoblock that can work for up to 2 months (!) in standby mode. Phenomenal performance is backed by a truly capacious 2000 mAh battery. No one has such a battery (we don’t take into account unknown Chinese manufacturers). The model turned out to be relatively advanced in technical terms: the phone has a 2-megapixel camera, a QVGA screen, a 3.5 connector, radio, and support for microSD memory cards.

Thus, we get a solution that is unique in its essence: the phone lasts longer than any other model, while it also has a number of options that allow it to be used not only as a means of communication.

Equipment

The thick cardboard box contains:

  • Telephone

  • Battery

  • miniUSB charger

  • Wired headset

  • Quick User Guide

  • Warranty card

  • CD

Appearance

The monoblock is offered in a single color option - a classic black color that will be appreciated by the male audience. The chopped shapes of the device clearly hint that, according to the designers, the strict and precise forms of the Philips X513 will appeal to adherents of the classic style.

The case dimensions are 112x47.6x15.6 mm, the phone weighs 131 grams. The phone is somewhat elongated, but at the same time narrow enough to be comfortable to hold in your hand. Philips X513 is a bit heavy, but that's the price for a higher-capacity battery. I think that this cannot be attributed to the shortcomings of the model; the dimensions of the phone, superior to its classmates, do not exceed reasonable limits - for example, the Samsung Xcover, protected from adversity, is even larger (but lighter).

Carrying a phone in your jeans pockets is convenient and does not create any discomfort. It is also comfortable to hold in your hand: the edges of the Philips X513 are slightly beveled both on the front side of the device and on the back, fingers rest on them; when the phone is in the palm, it does not slip out. I would also like to mention the coating of the back cover, which is made of metal, but thin vertical recesses make it non-slip.

The new product is assembled with high quality: the structure is monolithic, nothing creaks, does not play or dangle - an excellent level of workmanship. The front panel and sides of the Philips X513 are made of plastic. Following the spirit of recent trends, glossy plastic is used, which is reflected in the panel covering the phone screen being fairly soiled. The already mentioned back panel, as well as the edging of the phone on the front side.

At the top there is a small T-shaped cutout in which the earpiece is located. The company logo is located below the screen.

Below is a block of keys. It consists of a pair of soft keys and buttons for accepting and ending calls. The latter turns the phone on and off. In the middle there is a large round four-position button made of matte plastic. Pressing the center of the button confirms the action. The joystick is very comfortable, it has a small and clear stroke.

The keyboard is wide enough for comfortable typing. The phone has 4 rows of buttons, 3 keys on each. The combined buttons are located on several plates, they are convenient to press: the stroke is moderate, the actions are accompanied by quiet mechanical clicks. The characters are spaced at a sufficient distance from each other, so you can type blindly without fear of making a mistake. Letters and numbers are printed in gray font, which is clearly visible. But the icons themselves are a little small - people with impaired vision may not see them very well; they could be made larger, there is enough free space here. The backlighting of the keys is uneven and not very bright, but at the same time all characters remain readable.

On the left side there is a standard 3.5 mm jack to which a wired headset or any headphones with a mini-jack can be connected.

On the opposite side there is a paired volume key. The buttons are pressed with little effort and are comfortable to use. The keys protrude a considerable distance relative to the plane of the case, making them easy to press blindly.

At the bottom end there is a microphone hole and a miniUSB connector, which is closed with a plastic plug that fits tightly in place.

At the top end there is a strap mount.

The back of the phone features an angled body; on this part, made of matte plastic, there is a round cutout for the 2-megapixel camera, a flash (which can work as a flashlight) and a small longitudinal slot for the ringer speaker. The company name is printed on the slightly rough back panel.

The panel is pulled together with a little effort, under it there is a literally large battery, which is equipped with a pair of protrusions - they help to remove it from the device. Under the battery there are 2 slots for SIM cards in parallel, and next to them there is a slot for a microSD card.

In general, I really liked the build quality of the phone; the phone turned out to be convenient.

Screen

The X513 has a 2.2-inch TFT display with a resolution of 240x320 pixels and displays 262 thousand colors.

The colors are not very bright, rather dull. Viewing angles are average, the image fades outdoors in the sun, data is not very readable even at maximum brightness, and the phone lacks a mirror backing.

Five levels of display brightness are available. The screen cover is made of plastic; minor scratches or abrasions may appear from carrying the phone and small items in the same pocket.

Menu

In standby mode, a variety of useful service information is displayed on the desktop. On the top line there is a reception indicator, an icon of a memory card inserted into the phone, working Bluetooth, and an enabled profile. Symbols of unread messages and missed calls also appear there, and the time and battery charge level are shown. The names of SIM cards and operators, the date and day of the week, as well as a large clock are displayed. You can select a background image from those preset on your phone or from those that have been saved in the phone's memory by the user. Larger icons are additionally displayed on the desktop than in the top status line, indicating unread messages or missed calls.

Menu icons have a simple and neat appearance, the selected item stands out from the rest in a brighter color. The phone has two themes: black and white.

Navigation using the keyboard works. The menu is presented in the form of 3x4 icons, and the button layout is the same. And it turns out that the button in the upper left corner (this is “1”) calls up a menu with games, which is located in the same place on the screen. “2” is the browser, etc. You can also navigate using the volume keys.

The right soft key is assigned to launch a menu with shortcuts, which helps to quickly access some phone functions. You can add links to the functions you need to this menu, removing unnecessary ones or changing the order in which they are displayed. Actions are set to deflect the joystick in all four directions; you can choose from 18 tasks.

Phone book

In X513 you can save up to 1000 telephone numbers. In addition, SIM card memory is also available. You can display both numbers in the phone and SIM card memory as a general list, or separately for each type of data, respectively, in total there are 4 tabs with numbers in the phone.

Each subscriber is assigned a name (first and last names are combined into one field, you can enter up to 40 characters in it), number mobile phone, home and work, and can also be placed in one of the 5 user groups existing on the phone (you cannot create your own groups). Additionally, a fax number, company name, birthday, residential address are specified, a call is set, and an image is assigned (there is a 25 KB limit per image). You can choose to display only the fields you need, hiding the ones you don't need.

The search is carried out by the initial letters of the contact (first or last name). A letter is displayed on the screen while scrolling the list, which allows you to navigate the general list. Speed dialing works (up to 8 contacts are assigned).

Call log

The call history is displayed on several tabs, there are several of them: missed, received, dialed, and a general list displaying all types of calls. Each of them contains more than 30 numbers. Additionally, the name (if not recorded in the phone book, then the number), date and time of the call, and the number of calls to the subscriber are displayed. To the left of the phone number, a number icon indicates the number of the SIM card to which the call was received.

When making a call, actions are carried out by default from the first SIM card. If you need to call from the second one, then you need to go to the options menu when dialing a number and select another card there. There are a number of useful additional functions. The phone can serve beep during a conversation, notifying about the duration of the conversation (either one-time (the reminder time is set in the range from 1 to 3000 seconds), or regularly (from 30 to 60 seconds). Incoming call can be rejected, after which a message will be sent with the text entered in advance by the user (up to 60 characters). The phone can record a conversation using a built-in voice recorder, and also has a blacklist function that allows you to block incoming calls from certain numbers.

Working with SIM cards is implemented as follows. The display shows information about both cards: reception level, operator name, and the SIM card’s own name, which the user can give it. The numbers “1” and “2” indicate the priority of the cards. In the setup menu, not only the name of the SIM card is specified, but also their priority is manually selected (this is important, because by default all calls are made from the 1st card). You can also disable one of the SIM cards if you wish without removing it from the slot. If you are talking on the phone and someone is calling on the second SIM card, the phone will not respond to this at all.

Messages

The phone can work with both SMS and MMS messages. The phone memory can store up to 1000 SMS. Incoming SMS and MMS are included in shared folder. Additionally, there are folders for sent, outgoing, and drafts. Messages stored in the SIM card memory are also shown. It may turn out useful function automatic blocking of messages from unwanted persons - messages from blocked users will be stored in the spam folder. There is a set of templates for different occasions. When creating a new message, you can choose between two types: SMS or MMS. The phone supports sending merged messages. MMS are sent up to 200 KB in size.

You can enter several accounts and use them. There is no box setup wizard; you need to enter most of the parameters yourself. I tried downloading mail from Gmail and Mail servers. You can set automatic synchronization on your phone by setting the desired fixed time period (5, 30 minutes, 1 and 2 hours), set the maximum size of the downloaded email, as well as the number of email messages downloaded to the phone’s memory.

Camera

The phone has a 2-megapixel CMOS camera without autofocus, but equipped with a flash. The lens does not have a protective shutter.

Picks up the phone multiple resolutions: 2M (1600x1200), 1M (1280x1024), VGA (640x480), QVGA (320x240).

Additional settings for photos are:

Timer for 5, 10 and 15 seconds. Auto and night scene mode.

White balance: Auto, Daylight, Tungsten, Fluorescent, Cloudy, Incandescent.

Effects: grey, sepia, sepia green, sepia blue, color inversion.

Image Quality: Good, Low, High.

Exposure step adjustable from -4 to +4

Adjustable frequency: 50 or 60 Hz.

Multi-shot: 1, 3, 5 frames.

Contrast: High, Medium, Low.

There are 3 shutter sounds and the ability to turn it off. You can set the location for saving pictures: phone memory or flash card. In addition, from the menu you can quickly go to the Media Album and look at the photos. There is a function to reset parameters to factory settings.

The quality of the resulting images can hardly be called outstanding: unnatural colors, excessive contrast and an abundance of noise.

Player

The phone supports the following audio formats: AMR, MP3, AAC, WAV, Midi.

You can select the music source, which will be either the phone's memory, or, more likely, a flash drive installed in the phone.

The display shows the track name, playing time, song number, total number of songs. The player can be minimized, it will play in the background, and the name of the song being played will be displayed on the screen. The covers specified in the file tags were not displayed on the screen.

The player has the ability to play music in the following categories: all songs, playlists, artists, recently played. You can create playlists using a computer, or you can independently add existing songs to them in the device’s memory. There is a repeat mode for both one track and for all, you can listen to all the music mixed, or mixed plus the repeat mode is activated.

There is an equalizer with several settings: bass, dance music, classical music, pop, rock. Moreover, when you exit the player to the desktop, you can see the control menu. It is simple, but it supports the function quick transition to lists of songs, which is convenient: you don’t need to perform unnecessary actions when navigating to the menu. Pressing the end call key stops the music player. You can move between tracks by pressing the joystick left or right. From an audio point of view, the player produces a rather pleasant sound; it feels like progress has been made - the model copes better with music playback than its predecessors. True, if you want to listen to songs, it is better to replace the included headphones with something of better quality.

The built-in radio receiver has RDS support and a memory for two dozen stations. It is also convenient that you can record the program you are listening to at the time of broadcast and save it in the memory of your phone or card. You can enter station addresses manually, or use automatic search waves The radio can also be minimized and run in the background. The functions of recording radio broadcasts in various formats (AMR, AWB, WAV) are supported.

File Manager

There is no gallery to view images. There is only an album of pictures from the camera, which allows you to view the received images, transfer them via Bluetooth, email or MMS, and also assign the picture to a contact or set it as desktop wallpaper. Photos are shown as a vertical list with file names or presented as a matrix of preview images. Here you can also watch video files in 3GP format.

A file browser comes to the rescue again, which displays pictures on the full screen. The amount of built-in memory is small, it is only 4 MB. The slot for memory cards is located under the battery, so you won’t be able to quickly change the card. The manufacturer claims support for memory cards up to 16 GB; the card of this size was used in the test and it worked well. The built-in file browser can transfer files from folders in the phone memory and memory card, copy, rename and delete them. Through it you can view and listen to a variety of content. Images are shown as 3x3 icons or in a vertical list. To work with data, files need to be copied to special sections, otherwise the phone simply will not see them.

Organizer

The calendar can be shown either as a week or as a month. You can display in a single list all the events included in it, of which there can be several types in the phone’s memory: reminder, meeting, lectures, date, call, birthday. The start and end times of the reminder are set. Additionally, a warning signal is installed. It can be heard at the start of the event or ahead of time (5, 15 or 30 minutes in advance). The event is assigned a repetition: every day, weekly, monthly, one-time. You can also select several days of the week for which the repeat will be scheduled. The phone memory contains several standard notes that can be applied to set events.

The phone has 5 alarm clocks. The days on which it will work are set, and you can also select its signal either from the number of melodies preinstalled on the phone, or set your favorite melody. The repeated wake-up mode can be set for intervals of 5, 10 and 20 minutes. The alert mode changes (sound only, vibration only, sound and vibration, vibration first, then signal).

The voice recorder records sounds or a telephone conversation without a time limit; it is limited only by the amount of free space in the phone's memory or the card installed in it. You can choose from several audio recording formats (WAV, AMR, AWB), and set the recording quality to high or low.

Built-in reading function text files allows you to view the contents of .txt files, which can be in ASCII (Western Windows), UCS2 (Unicode) and UTF8 encodings. For additional convenience, you can configure the font style, its size (small, medium, large), scrolling (page by page or line by line) and its speed, and displaying text on the entire screen. You can also set the text to scroll automatically. Text can only be read in vertical screen orientation. The data can be located both on the phone and on a memory card.

There is a calculator, a function for creating text notes, a stopwatch, a unit converter, a flashlight, and time displays in different time zones.

You can backup your phone book and messages or restore previously saved data.

The blacklist allows you to block calls and messages from different people. Rehabilitation is also carried out in the same menu - you can remove a number from the list, the subscriber will again be able to call and send SMS.

Profiles are 7 different preset and customizable phone settings. They change the ringer volume, ringtone and message melody, signal type (ringing, vibration, vibration and ringing, vibration, then ringing), turning on the keyboard sound, and adjusting the screen brightness. The phone can use 5 different signals of its own, which can be set as melodies.

Settings are highlighted as a separate menu item. The phone language, time and date are set. Here you can see how many messages and contacts are in memory. Network, browser, call, SMS parameters are set. Select the font size: large, medium or small. Other settings are also changing.

Almost all modern smartphones provide the function of playing music, allow you to take high-quality pictures, keep people busy with good games, and can also be a small cinema hall. However, almost all of them have a weak point: the amount of time they can work without recharging. As a rule, charging a smartphone does not last more than half a day or one day. Some manufacturers don't like this and are trying to fight it. Which phone holds its charge the longest? This question is quite relevant now. This selection contains all the models that are presented on the Russian market. Each of them is considered, according to reviews from professionals and buyers, to be a smartphone with a powerful battery. The rating presents several models, from the most expensive device to the cheapest. It should be noted that the top is still dominated by one fairly well-known company among the entire rating. It is in this technique that you can be absolutely sure.

iPhone 6 Plus

This phone, which holds a charge for a long time, is familiar to everyone without exception. Average cost - 50 thousand rubles. This smartphone is from Apple It is considered the first tablet phone with a good battery, so it cannot be ignored. It should be noted that of the entire line of iPhones, this Apple iPhone The 6 Plus is really powerful. Its battery has a capacity of 3 thousand mAh. That's why this device They advise everyone who is already tired of working with Android, but wants a high-quality phone, excellent battery power and does not want to pay attention to the cost. With average user activity, this phone can last about 2 days without charging, so if you don’t play games or play videos, then this is more than enough. In principle, not the longest period battery life However, if we compare other phones with a 5.5-inch screen, the Apple iPhone 6 Plus performs quite well.

Lenovo P70

This phone belongs to a rather expensive price category, although its cost is much lower than that of an iPhone. Its average price is 16 thousand rubles. It is a device that runs on a powerful battery. At one time, the company was able to release a fairly successful smartphone with a battery capacity of 4 thousand mAh. Of the entire line, this device stood out quite well. It was metallic, pleasant to look at. However, this model has long been discontinued, but it can still be bought secondhand. This device works with a 64-bit processor with eight cores. It's obvious Nokia device 5800 can't compare with it. This smartphone is equipped with a 13 megapixel camera and the screen size is 5 inches. In general, the device is considered to be quite good, but there are reviews on the Internet that its cost is too high.

DEXP Ixion Energy

This phone, which holds a charge for a long time, belongs to the middle class, its cost is 15 thousand rubles. This is a model from the DEXP line, which is considered top-end. Moreover, this device is interesting because it is capable of charging other batteries, acting as a PowerBank. In essence, it is a two-in-one device. The battery of this phone is rated at 5 thousand mAh. The device has a 13 megapixel camera and a 5-inch screen, the quality of which is Full HD. The processor runs on 8 cores. If you use the phone quite actively, completely loading it with resource-intensive applications, then it will last about 7 hours. This indicator for operating system Android is more than sufficient.

Highscreen Boost 2 SE

This phone, which holds a long charge, also belongs to the middle class. Its cost is 13 thousand rubles. Many buyers are afraid to buy this smartphone. The fact is that it has an unusual feature: it is sold with two batteries. One of them is 3 thousand mAh, the second is 6 thousand mAh. The device runs on Android version 4.3, which is, in principle, a little lower than the OS of devices that were released simultaneously with it. But overall, although the device is outdated, it works great. Considering that the device is sold with two removable batteries, it can be included in this list.

Philips Xenium V387

Another phone that holds a charge for a long time, one of the average quality devices. Its cost is 11 thousand rubles. This device is generally considered the ancestor of smartphones that can work for a long time. However, it is now struggling to compete. It runs on a 4400 mAh battery. Equipped with an 8 MP camera and HD screen. The processor runs on 4 cores. The display measures 5 inches. This model takes the lead compared to other cheaper smartphones. In general, the device for 11 thousand is a phone that, in the opinion of many buyers, does not live up to its cost. They believe that several thousand were charged for the name of a top brand.

DEXP Ixion ML2

This phone belongs to the middle class, its cost is 9 thousand rubles. The power of its battery is considered a record, and the smartphone itself is distinguished by the fact that its body is quite thin. Another special feature is that, according to customer reviews, it can operate on a single battery charge for about a week. For an Android device, these figures are truly record-breaking. What else needs to be noted is the 13 megapixel camera, which has a separate button located on the body. This feature is now considered a rarity.

Highscreen Zera S Power

This middle-class smartphone costs about 8 thousand rubles. Overall, this phone is average; the only difference is its battery. Has a battery capacity of 4100 mAh. This device runs on a processor with four cores, a 5-megapixel camera, and a 4.5-inch screen. This option is interesting, but loses to all the models described above.

DEXP Ixion XL145 Snatch

This device belongs to the middle segment, its cost is 7 thousand rubles. This device is practically a copy of the smartphone described above. Only the manufacturer changed the design a little, used some other parts and released the device on the market. It should be noted that the cost was even lower than that of its predecessor. The processor was replaced with an 8-core one, the camera was improved, it became 8 megapixels. The matrix has also been slightly adjusted so that it can take photographs in the dark, which cannot be said about the Nokia 5800. At the same time, the battery remains the same, the capacity is 4 thousand mAh.

Fly IQ4504 Energy 5

An excellent entry-level phone that costs RUB 6,500. The battery is designed for 4 thousand mAh. This figure is quite good, especially for a device of this type. The processor runs on 4 cores. The RAM is a bit of a let down as it is 512 MB. All other smartphones discussed in this article have 1 or 2 GB of memory. Unfortunately, this phone, like its rival Fly Era Energy 2, is not suitable for children, as it cannot act as a gaming phone. Its RAM does not allow performing too resource-intensive processes. But in general, if a user is looking for a five-inch smartphone that has a fairly powerful battery, then this model will be the best.

DEXP Ixion ML

This phone also belongs to the entry level, its cost is 5 thousand rubles. The processor is 2-core, and the battery is designed for 4 thousand mAh. In general, thanks to the 4.5-inch screen, this characteristic is quite sufficient. This phone can work for about a week under average load. It should be noted that this manufacturer produces a line with powerful batteries, but only the best of them are discussed in the article.

DEXP Ixion X

This device takes first place in the top. It belongs to the very basic level of quality, its cost is just under 4,500 rubles. Agree, this is not much at all. It should be noted that it has already spread quite well on the Russian market. This smartphone is popular because it is cheap and its battery power is quite impressive. For such a price, this smartphone is considered unique. The battery capacity is 3 thousand mAh. The processor it runs on has four cores. Screen - 4 inches. Overall, the result is a compact phone that works quickly and for a long time. On a single charge it can last 5 days or more with average use. This phone also receives positive reviews from customers due to the fact that the company does not charge an additional price for its name, and retail stores do not add costs for selling the device. There is an agreement between the company and points of sale.

Overall this device is unique. It should be noted that, as mentioned above, there are quite a lot of similar gadgets in the company’s line. That is why any consumer will be able to choose the best solution for himself. When choosing the phone you need among those presented to your attention, you should study the characteristics and decide which battery holds a charge longer.

Results

The article discusses a small top device that can be called one of the most powerful modern smartphones. The buyer just has to choose the one that suits him best. We wish you an easy choice and a successful purchase of a brand new gadget.

Most manufacturers try to make flagships thin. This is understandable, since low weight and thickness of the body are important criteria for a TOP-class smartphone. If this is neglected, then the new flagship will look like a mid-segment smartphone, and it will fail to sell. Naturally, it is impossible to build into a thin body capacious battery, since current technologies do not allow the creation of such a battery. So it turns out that cool phones with huge power-hungry screens and powerful processors are equipped with 3000-3500 mAh batteries, but there are exceptions.

This review uses the results of studio autonomy testingGSMArena, links to sources at the end of the article.

1st place – Huawei Mate 20X

Created the most enduring smartphone Huawei company. We are talking about the Mate 20X model with a huge 7.2-inch screen. Due to its huge size, this “shovel” received a capacious 5000 mAh battery, which, paired with a low-power processor, OLED matrix and optimized shell, provides solid autonomy.

A full battery charge is enough for:

  • 28:49 hours of communication
  • 15:32 hours surfing the Internet with backlight 200 cd/m2
  • 17:56 h video playback

Such results allow us to put the flagship in first place - no other TOP-class smartphone is capable of this. Plus, the device supports SuperCharge fast charging, and the kit includes a compatible 5V/4.5A adapter, which gives a power of 22.5 W. With it, a huge 5000 mAh battery charges up to 47% in 30 minutes; up to %100 – in 100 minutes. Unfortunately, there is no wireless and reverse charging, like on the Huawei Mate 20 Pro.

Autonomy is not the only strong point of the device. It is made on the latest 7-nm HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor, equipped with the same camera unit as the Huawei Mate 20 Pro (ranked 2nd in the ranking of camera phones), which means that it takes photographs no worse. Plus, there is a cool OLED matrix with support for HDR10 and infinite contrast, NFC and a set of up-to-date interfaces that any TOP smartphone of 2019 should be equipped with.

You can praise the device for a long time, but it is more important to highlight the shortcomings. Firstly, there is no protection against water, only splash protection is claimed, and this is not serious. Secondly, there is no wireless charging and LED event indicator. Thirdly, the device only supports branded nano memory cards - they are very expensive. On the official Huawei website, such a 128 GB card will cost 5,000 rubles.

2nd place – Huawei P30 Pro

A completely new flagship, which is not yet sold in Russia, but has already been officially presented and went on sale in other countries. One of these days it will hit the shelves of Russian stores.

Studios have already tested the smartphone, and DxOMark experts recognized it as the best camera phone in the world. The cameras here are truly revolutionary - you can read about this in full, but for now we are interested in the battery and autonomy.

P30 Pro is equipped with a 4200 mAh battery, which is enough for:

  • 27:40 hours of communication.
  • 14:21 hours surfing the Internet at 200 cd/m2.
  • 20:16 hours of video playback at 200 cd/m2.

Fast, wireless and even reverse charging are supported. With the “native” adapter that comes with the kit, the phone charges up to 70% in 30 minutes; up to 90% in 45 minutes; a full cycle lasts 60 minutes, and this is a record among phones with 4000+ mAh batteries. Obviously, the Chinese have done a good job of optimizing power consumption, and the result is one of the most autonomous flagships in the world.

On the market, Huawei P30 Pro is not positioned as a very autonomous smartphone; the emphasis is on its cameras - there are three of them. The main sensor has a resolution of 40 megapixels and a Quad-Bayer filter, which allows you to combine adjacent pixels on the matrix into one large one. This really improves the quality of the photo, expands the DD and reduces the amount of noise. The second and third modules have wide-angle and telephoto lenses. P30 Pro is the first device with 10x hybrid zoom and 50x digital zoom.

NFC, an under-screen fingerprint scanner and other flagship stuff are included. All this makes the Huawei P30 Pro one of the coolest in the world, not only in terms of cameras or autonomy, but in general.

Flaws:

  • Lack of 3.5 mm headphone jack.
  • There is no 4K/60 FPS shooting function.
  • No stereo speakers.
  • Front camera with fixed focus.
  • Branded Huawei NM memory cards are expensive and rare.

Offers on the market:

  • Official Huawei store – 69,990 rubles + 2 cool gifts

Benchmark results (performance testing):

3rd place – Samsung Galaxy Note 9

I’ll say right away – the phone is controversial. As a result of testing in the GSMArena studio, the device showed high battery life results, but buyers in reviews complain about the rapid drainage of the battery.

Since the review was compiled according to GSMArena data, it falls into third place in the ranking. Fully charged Galaxy Note 9 withstands:

  • 28:13 hours of communication.
  • 12:36 hours of surfing the Internet at 200 cd/m2.
  • 16:45 hours of video playback at 200 cd/m2.

In talk mode, the device lasts even longer than Huawei Mate 20 Pro. The kit comes with a 15W charger - something Samsung has offered since the Galaxy S5. With it, the smartphone charges up to 37% in 30 minutes, which is very good considering the 4000 mAh capacity. A full cycle will take 1:46 hours.

These are the testing data. But, judging by reviews from owners on w3bsit3-dns.com, many are faced with excessively high energy consumption. A possible reason is the hardware of the phones. Various models are equipped with different controllers, modems and other components, which in theory can affect autonomy as a whole. Therefore, the figures above may be erroneous.

The smartphone itself Samsung Galaxy The Note 9 is simply stunning, with a quality build, water resistance, a powerful 10nm processor and a near-flawless front camera. It took 3rd place in the DxOMark rating, losing the first 2 positions to the more recent Galaxy S10+ and Google Pixel 3.

Flaws:

  • Very high price on the market.
  • Heavy weight - more than 200 grams.
  • Design is not for everybody.

4th place – Honor View 20

Another phone from Huawei, equipped with a capacious battery and cool, optimized software. This is the world's first smartphone with a hole for the front camera, which made it possible to achieve almost maximum framelessness.

The phone is equipped with a 4000 mAh battery that can withstand:

  • 30:00 h of communication.
  • 15:26 hours of surfing the Internet at 200 cd/m2.
  • 15:48 hours of video playback at 200 cd/m2.

In the kit you will receive a 22.5 W adapter with support for Huawei SuperCharge technology - in 30 minutes it charges the phone up to 59% from zero and up to 94% in 1 hour. In addition to autonomy and charging speed, the smartphone is valuable for its cool screen with a brightness of 479 cd/m2 and a contrast ratio of 1313:1, and most importantly, accurate color reproduction. Here, the color error is only 1.5 as a result of manual calibration, which makes the Honor View 20 matrix one of the best.

The camera in Honor View 20 is Sony IMX 586 with a resolution of 48 megapixels and an f/1.8 aperture. It uses a Quad-Bayer filter, like the Huawei P30 Pro. With it you get pictures in 12 megapixel resolution, but of higher quality. The secondary camera is a 3D ToF sensor, it offers body contouring and provides portrait mode.

Honor View 20 is much cheaper than the previous smartphones in the TOP, while it is slightly inferior to them in terms of autonomy and photography quality, but overall it is worthy of the highest ratings.

Flaws:

  • Not the best IPS screen on the market.
  • There is no slot for a memory card.
  • The 3D-ToF camera is practically useless. Essentially, it replaces a banal depth sensor.

5th place – Xiaomi Mi 9

But the main thing in this review is the 3300 mAh battery, which produces:

  • 23:32 hours of communication.
  • 12:15 hours surfing the Internet at 200 cd/m2.
  • 16:57 hours of video playback at 200 cd/m2.

The phone supports fast and wireless fast charging and comes with an 18W wired adapter that delivers 45% power in 30 minutes. Xiaomi offers for $20 to buy a set of two adapters - a wired one with a power of 27 W and a wireless one with a power of 20 W. As a result, the charging speed will increase to 70% in 30 minutes, and this is already a serious claim to leadership.

Xiaomi Mi 9 is a real flagship based on the Snapdragon 855 chip, with a cool OLED screen with HDR10 support and Gorilla Glass 6 protection, advanced cameras - in the DxOMark camera phone rating it comes right behind the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus and is ahead of the iPhone XS Max, HTC U12+ ,Samsung Note 9.

Flaws:

  • No protection from water.
  • There are no stereo speakers or 3.5mm headphone output.
  • There is no slot for a memory card.
  • No optical stabilization. Despite this, he was included in the ranking of the best.

Today, few people are surprised that the people around us have expensive smartphones with large displays, powerful processors and a huge variety of useful and not so useful applications installed on the system. This whole thing, not just making calls and playing powerful games, consumes energy, which means mobile gadgets need batteries with a good power reserve.

When choosing a smartphone, you need to pay attention not only to the “coolness” of its screen and maximum performance in games, but also to the battery capacity. Although, in fact, this is not entirely true. The battery life of a gadget is determined not only by the maximum battery capacity, but also by the “gluttony” of the technical hardware, as well as by the efficiency of optimization of the system under which the device operates.

Considering all of the above, I bring to your attention a review of the 5 best smartphones in terms of battery life, which were selected by the famous Western publication Tom’sguide based on testing among more than 30 models released no earlier than 2014.

I’ll note right away that all tested gadgets were in equal conditions: the display brightness was set at 100 nits (average brightness on a modern PC monitor), the same level of network reception was selected, 4G LTE Internet was activated and the screen for web surfing was turned on.

I offer an overview of smartphones in descending order of their operating time.

1st place - Huawei Ascend Mate 2

I was able to hold out for 14 hours and 43 minutes. With a display size of 6.1 inches, it has a far from the most powerful battery of 4050 mAh. But this was enough for him to become a leader in terms of duration of work.

The device is equipped with a good 4-core Cortex-A7 processor with a frequency of 1.6 GHz, an IPS display with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels (241 ppi) and 2 cameras: the main one is 13 MP with autofocus and LED backlight, front - 5 MP. The memory in the device is 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of ROM, expandable with a microSD card up to 64 GB. Huawei Ascend Mate 2 weighs neither more nor less for its dimensions - 202. Today, these are not the most outstanding characteristics, but they are quite sufficient for fast and comfortable operation of “heavy” games.

An interesting feature is the PoweBank function. capable of sharing charge with another smartphone connected to it with a microUSB-to-microUSB cable.

The cost of Huawei Ascend Mate 2 on AliExpress is approximately $350.

2nd place – OnePlus One

The second candidate was a little behind the leader, but showed quite a decent result, working for 13 hours and 16 minutes. This is despite the fact that the battery capacity is only 3100 mAh.

OnePlus One is equipped with a 4-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801, 2500 MHz processor, paired with an Adreno 330 video processor. The memory capacity is 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of ROM - quite a decent reserve for the 2014 model. The smartphone has an ideal screen size of 5.5 inches. IPS matrix type with a resolution of 1920x1080 and a density of 401 PPI.

Like most modern smartphones, it has two high-quality cameras of 13 MP and 5 MP. The maximum video recording resolution of the main camera is 3840x2160 pixels.

We can say that the OnePlus One is the perfect phone for the money ($325).

3rd place - iPhone 6 Plus

The Apple flagship was able to last exactly 10 hours. It is equipped with the most powerful battery among all previous iPhone models - 2915 mAh.

The screen has a diagonal of 5.5 inches (also the largest in the iPhone line). His technical specifications similar to the OnePlus One model, and the price on AliExpress starts from $880

Naturally, Apple's own A8 processor, 1400 MHz with 2 cores, is paired with the PowerVR GX6450 accelerator. The main camera is equipped with an 8 megapixel matrix, and the front one is only 1.2 megapixels. It seems that the characteristics are not outstanding, but the presence of optical stabilization and high-quality autofocus makes the camera one of the best among the tested models. The maximum resolution when recording video is 1920x1080.

It is worth noting that the younger model lasted only 7 and a half hours.

4th place - Samsung Galaxy S5

Yes, yes, it was the S5 that took 4th place with a result of 9 hours 42 minutes. He was a little ahead of his more modern brothers and. The battery capacity of the device is 2800 mAh, and it is replaceable.

The original devices are equipped with an Exynos 5 Octa 5422 processor, 4 cores of which operate at a frequency of 1.9 MHz (Cortex-A15), and the remaining 4 at a frequency of 1.3 MHz (Cortex-A7). The graphics are powered by the Mali-T628 MP6 GPU.

It has an excellent 16 MP camera with autofocus and the ability to shoot video in 2160p@30fps and 1080p@60fps modes. Focusing is carried out in 0.3s, there are a large number of shooting modes (HDR (Rich tone), the choice of focus depth after shooting is available.

The display is 5.1 inches, it is equipped with a matrix Super AMOLED with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. Memory capacity: 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM, expandable with microSD cards up to 128GB. The cost of a refurbished S5 smartphone on AliExpress starts from $250.

5th place - Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

With a 2600 mAh battery, it lasted 8 hours 57 minutes during tests, which is 30 minutes longer than the operating time of the younger Galaxy S6 model. Also not a bad result considering its level of performance and not the most powerful battery.

The main feature of this model is a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2560x1440 and a pixel density of 577 PPI, rounded at the ends. The maximum brightness is 600 cd/m2. The most advanced Gorilla Glass 4 coating is used to protect it.

The workhorse of the S6 Edge is Samsung processor Exynos 7 Octa 7420. 4 Cortex-A53 cores + 4 Cortex-A57 cores, operating at frequencies of 1.5-2.5 MHz. Video processor - GPU Mali-T760.

For maximum performance, Samsung has equipped this model 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of ROM, but without the possibility of expansion with memory cards.
It is worth noting that the Sansung Galaxy S6 Edge is by far the most productive smartphone, ahead of such giants as the iPhone 6 and HTC One M9 in tests.

An excellent 16 MP camera, a fingerprint scanner and wireless phone charging finally prove that the S6 Edge is the best in its class! The only limiting factor is the considerable cost of the gadget – $650.

As you can see, the latest smartphones are not always the best options. In terms of performance, they are certainly in the lead and give a head start to earlier models, but if you need a gadget that, with good technical characteristics, also works for a long time, then it’s worth “going back to the past.”
The following facts speak in favor of the “offer” to purchase long-lasting smartphones:

  • Firstly, according to statistics, most users do not need a super-powerful device at all, but the operating time of mobile equipment is important for every person.
  • Secondly, all the newest models have exorbitant prices, designed for special “connoisseurs” who are not limited in funds.
I hope that the review will help you choose for yourself good smartphone, allowing you to charge it as rarely as possible. Do you have experience using a completely “non-gluttonous” gadget? Share it with us in the comments!

Conclusion

As you understand, simply comparing which smartphone holds a charge longer is not entirely correct. This is not the parameter that you should focus on today when choosing a smartphone. Much more important is functionality and performance, the ability of the gadget to simultaneously process tasks from several applications. In addition, for many, an important selection criterion remains the quality of photographs and videos that can be taken using a mobile phone camera.

If you are still looking for which smartphone holds a charge the longest in 2017, then pay attention to fast charging technologies. Today they are increasingly found in new models. In addition, the high capacity battery makes the smartphone look rough, thick and unattractive. Is it worth making such sacrifices for the sake of an option (the ability to use a smartphone for several days without recharging) that you, in fact, do not need?
